Roadworthy Certificate in Richmond

If you need a roadworthy certificate (RWC) in Richmond, visit us at Richmond Automotive Car Care Centre.

We provide roadworthy inspections for almost all vehicles including 4×4, vans, utes and light commercial vehicles.

If you’re buying, selling, re-registering or clearing a defect from a vehicle you’re required by law to have a roadworthy certificate. RWCs show that your car is in proper working order and safe to drive on Australian roads.

At Richmond Automotive Car Care Centre, we have a team of experienced and Vic Roads-licensed vehicle testers who are authorised to inspect and provide RWC for all makes and models.

With more than 30 years’ experience in the industry, you can rest assured that your vehicle will be inspected by qualified professional.

What is Included in a Roadworthy Inspection?

A roadworthy inspection is designed to make sure the vehicle and its components are in safe working order and meet the minimum standards of roadworthiness to operate on Australian roads.

A roadworthy inspection includes:

  • Wheels and tyres
  • Seats and belts
  • Steering, suspensions and braking systems
  • Lights and reflectors
  • Vehicle structure
  • Windscreen, windows including wipers and washers
  • Other safety-related components

It’s important to note that a roadworthy test does not check for vehicle reliability and general maintenance or condition. It also doesn’t check non-safety related accessories such as air conditioning, power windows etc. If you require a more comprehensive assessment of your vehicle, don’t hesitate to contact us to book a service.

If your vehicle passes the inspection, the roadworthy certificate will remain valid for 30 days. If you fail to present the certificate to VicRoads within that 30-day period, another inspection may be required.

What if My Vehicle Fails the Roadworthy Inspection?

If your vehicle fails the roadworthy inspection you will receive a rejection report. You will then have 7 days to rectify the problems and present the vehicle for re-inspection. After that 7 days, another full inspection will be required.
