Why Do You Need a Roadworthy?
A roadworthy is one of the most important parts of buying or selling a car, ensuring that a vehicle meets all the requirements to be safely driven on the road. It is illegal to buy, sell or re-register a car in Victoria without a roadworthy certificate, and it must be tested by a licensed vehicle tester like Richmond Car Care.
The roadworthy test will involve all of the key components of your car, including the wheels and tyres, vehicle structure, seats and seatbelts, steering, suspension and brakes and much more.
Once the inspection is complete, you’ll have 30 days to present the certificate to Vic Roads. If your vehicle fails the inspection, you’ll be given 7 days to fix the problems diagnosed and then you can present it for re-inspection.
